Veterans on parade

No - not the soldiering type - the oldies and wrinklies from Crawley Green.

Danny Austin (above) is running a veterans team this season - here is the information from the horse's mouth!

Danny states: "You may have heard the rumours, but now I can give you an update on the proposed Crawley Green Old Boys (the vets) we now have 20 oldies (over 35) interested and signed. This number hopefully will rise to 30 over the next few weeks.
The games against local vets' teams have been allocated to the first Sunday of the months of September, October, November and December and it is hoped to play these on the plastic pitch for a lunchtime kick off.
I have got an independent referee lined up who has indicated that he would prefer to go along the master guidelines of sin bins rather than bookings and sendings off (although we should now be old enough to control ourselves).
I will keep you informed and hope that it brings in a whole new set of players to the club (having a laugh, drinking and spending money over the bar)
