No treble - but three doubles!
The season ended on a high note for Crawley teams with
Gary King's Saturday side just failing to complete a remarkable
treble - but gaining a superb double in the process - Gary's first season
in charge of the Saturday side.
Two other league and cup doubles for Club teams were
achieved by Rob Burton and Alan McCabe for the U8s
and Ronnie Bates with his U11s.

Gary King (above) had a superb first season in
charge leading his team to a terrific league and county cup double, narrowly
failing in a unique treble as the team unluckily lost 3-2 on penalties
in the league cup after finishing scoreless after exta time.
Two blatant penalty appeals turned down - one handball
on the line - during normal time left the maroons bemoaning their luck
and with better finishing Crawley should have put the game beyond Dunstable
98 long before the final whistle.
But the Club congratulate everyone involved for a season to remember!
Rob Burton and Alan McCabe were the first
team to celebrate their double achievement as their talented U8s grabbed
their first-ever silverware in what we hope is more to come from these
youngsters - the first to emerge from the Nursery Section.

Alan and Rob celebrate the double with
their terrific youngsters.

The final double of the season was achieved by Ronnie
Bates' talented U11s who beat Shefford Saints 4-0 in the final after
outplaying them with totally fluent football.
Congratulations to the managers, coaches, parents, helpers
and not least, the players for a magnificent season.
Other creditable results were Nora Moran's U14
girls who reached their first cup final this season - after several years
of hard work by Nora, who deserves every accolade for furthering girls
football at the Club. We now run three teams and are hopeful we will see
this increase in the future.
Jim Betts' U16 boys narrowly lost their league
cup final 1-0 to Leighton Town, having had most of the goal scoring chances,
but just lacking that final thrust to put them away.
Congratulations and commiserations to both Jim
and Nora for their hard work over the season.
