Sir Trevor opens new facilities
SATURDAY, 9 JULY 2005
A proud day for both Crawley Green Sports & Social
Club and Ashcroft High School as the joint venture which provided
new changing rooms and coaching facilities at the Club plus a third generation
all-weather pitch at the school was officially opened by former England
and West Ham football star Sir Trevor Brooking.
Below are just a few pics of the day:

Tony Talbot, Chairman, briefs the Committee as
to their tasks
for the important day ahead.
The Chairman gives a superb presentation on how the Club
was formed, its achievements on and off the pitch and our
hopes for the future.

Craig Freeman organises the siging of mementoes
for the Club
as Hammers' fans Les and Nicole Shepherd look on.

Sir Trevor Brooking is mobbed by youngsters as
he prepares to open the new changing rooms.

More youngsters keen to get the England hero's autograph.

Sir Trevor gives a brief speech before opening the new
changing rooms. He admires the claret and blue ribbons.
Chairman Tony Talbot, points out some of the problems we
faced with the building of the changing rooms to Sir Trevor
and FA representatives.
However, the youngsters show their enthusiasm at the improvements.
Sir Trevor (by now a dab hand with the scissors) opens the
all-weather pitch.

Graham Whitehill and Jeanette Padgett - driving force
of the school's application (both left) - pose with other school members
and Sir Trevor on the new artificical pitch.

Even our girls get in on the posing scene . . .

. . . and even the fat lads brigade (sometimes known
as the Exeuctive Committee) get in on the act for a team pic with
Sir Trevor Brooking.
Finally, Tony Talbot presents Sir Trevor Brooking with
a CGSSC
shirt and asks the former England ace if he wants it signed by him.
