Shelagh and Julie in Cancer support
Crawley Green Life Members, Shelagh Mullen and
Julie Blennerhassett walked their socks off in a bid to raise money
for Breakthrough Breast Cancer.

to find a smile on thir 40-mile marathon walk in aid of Breakthrough Breast
Cancer.

This formidable pair walked from Greenwich in south
London to Finsbury park via central London, a total in excess of 40 miles
- and their stamina paid off as they raised a magnificent total of £4,031
for this worthwhile cause.
Shelagh, an Arndale Centre reiki practitioner celebrated
her 44th birthday during the walk and vowed to return next year.
Each of the girls had to raise a minimum of £1,500
before being eligible to take part.
As usual the Club played its part and the girls raised
over £1,500 as Club members dug deep to support our tireless twosome.
Shelagh said: "We had a charity night at the Clb
where we did the waitressing - and received lots of generous tips.
We also held an auction and all the prizes were donated.
Club members have been fantastic."
She also feels very strongly about raising more money
for such a wonderful cause: "It is so important because cancer has
an impact on all of us, even it it doesn't hit us personally. We all know
someone who has been affected."
Shelagh and Julie would like to thank
all members who helped support them as well as Mac's Plasterers, Town
& Country Indoor Market, Dave McNeilly and to their familes
who were behind them all the way in their efforts.

The ladies proudly display the Club flag at the end
of their
40-mile walk in aid of Breakthrough Breast Cancer.

with TV star Mark Fowler
of Eastenders.

The girls finally take the weight off their feet and
relax in the charity pink shirts. We bet Mick Justin would like
one of these shirts!
In all the dynamic duo raised a magnificent £4,081
and the "Perfect Pair" - their team name - lived up to their
name.
