Best fooball club in Luton - Official
December, 2004
If anyone has any doubts that Crawley Green is now the best football
club in Luton (apart from the Hatters) read on!
Following the amazing progress over the last few years of the youth
section in achieving the Charter Standard Mark then the ultimate
accolade of Club in the Community - they have been recognised by
the County FA as the best football club in Bedfordshire.
They were presented with their award by Luton Town defender Alan
Nielsen and were also forwarded for the regional awards in which they
came a creditable second!
A tremendous amount of thanks go to YDO John Doyle and
his dedicated team of coaches, assistants and managers for making the
Club what it is today. The adults benefit from gaining extra coaching
skills whilst the youngsters reap the benefit of having those skills passed
on in a safe and friendly environment.

Above, Crawley members John Doyle (YDO), Ron Bates (Chairman),
Dave Padgett (Goalkeeping coach) and Nora Moran (Ladies and Girls section)
receive their award from Alan Nielsen.
Local Club scene reporter, Don Neufville, has already written
a superb article in the Luton News on the terrific atmosphere generated
at the Club - one that he reckons puts sports bars in the town to shame.
Thus explained his latest appearance at the Club for the Arsenal v Chelsea
match. Again the atmosphere was, as he says "just like being there"
and pictured below are some of the our members enjoying the match with
Don.
The Tottenham fans keps a low profile today!
