U13 Awards Presentation 2003-04

John Doyle with some of the other football coaches
enjoying a break from some arduous coaching manuals!
John Doyle attended a 3-day course at Cambridgeshire
FA in order to further his football coaching qualifications, which will
benefit not only himself, but the youngsters and other coaching staff
at CGSSC. Below is a brief summary of the weekend taken from the Cambs
FA website.
A 3-day, FA Tutor Training event was hosted at Cambridgeshire
FA recently with coaches from around the eastern region in attendance.
John Doyle, our YDO, attended the course in order to obtain greater
experience in his coaching role.
The 21 coaches, who are either existing coach educators
or aspire to be, took part in the course which gave them an understanding
of modern learning techniques and the application of these in training
situations.
The course was tutored by Rob (Scouse) Munro
and Keith Rudd who took the candidates across the Presenter/Developer
continuum, used the circle of learning to engage candidates and gave an
understanding to the values of this educational programme to those in
attendance.
The feedback from those involved has been tremendous
with comments such as 'thoroughly enjoyed the experience', 'great tutors',
'good facilities'.
The coaches who now wish to proceed in the field of
coach education now have to undergo a comprehensive mentoring and practical
development programme to ensure that the prospective tutors can meet the
aims of the Football Association.
One of these aims is to provide tutors who can improve
achievement and retention rates on all courses offered by the FA which
in turn should benefit all those involved in the national game?
Should you have any questions regarding this course
or Coach Education please feel free to contact any member of the Football
Development team on 01223 576770 or contact John Doyle direct.
