U13 Awards Presentation 2003-04

Parents and boys pose for the camera before the Dads
and Lads match - the dads looking in good shape (but you should have seen
them 40 minutes later!)
Crawley U13s award presentation afternoon started
with a 'Dads and Lads' football match. In the boiling afternoon sun the
Dads took a deserved lead in a closely contested game of 20 minutes each
way (the youngsters would not have been able to keep up with their fathers'
speed and stamina) and at half-time the Dads had established a superb
2-1 scoreline.

the oxygen bottles started appearing.
However, after the interval, the young upstarts were
let back into the game and in the dying moments tied the game at 6-6 (the
fathers had sportingly let them equalise in order to see a pulsating penalty
shoot-out!). Good fortune was with the youngsters as keeper Tony Calvano
struggled with some powerful penalties as the boys came out 4-2 winners.

actually took part.
