CG dominoes teams top dogs

Last season proved tip-top for two of our domino teams. CGSSC A team were runners-up in Division 3 Luton and District Domino League whilst our C team won the Mick Denton Cup (the second time in past three seasons that the Club has won this trophy).

The A team runners-up are pictured above (left to right) John Canning, George Saddlier, John Mould, Mick Webb and Tom (the dog) Davitt, not present were Richard (Car Park) Hennessey, Reg Freeman and Anthony Price.

The other crowd (above) is the 'C' team which won the Mick Denton cup. Pictured (left to right) are Ken Rutter, John Leonard,
Robin Spicer and star player Frank Abbott - not in the picture are Richard Hough, Steve Johnson and George Adams.

A good night was had by all even though there seems more life on the mural behind the winners than the players themselves.

. . . before things start to get a bit leary as captain John Mould shows off the shield whilst John (Mad Dog) Leonard holds up his victory trophy - who buys these monstrosities?

The two teams sit together for a free drink - the Secretary must have put his hand in his pocket again!

Thanks to all the guys for a terrific season - pity they can't beat the professionals in the Club when it comes to playing for money!
