Six of the best . . .

John McGovern's successful season did not finish with the final
league game. As he keeps telling everyone his team won the league and
cup double and remained unbeaten in 26 games, 25 wins and 1 draw.
The draw was with Chris Brown's Sundon Park team, so John offered
him a manager's post and asked him for 3 of his players. As the old saying
goes . . . if you can't beat them
join them.

The boys then won the Chiltern Junior 7s' end-of-season
tournament for the treble. They then visited Houghton 5s
and again emerged victorious. This was followed by the lads in maroon
beating Celtic to win the Crawley 7s and to cap this fantastic
season the cup thirsty youngsters recently won the Ampthill 6s
tournament.

Chris Brown (above) joins the ever-growing number of managers
at Crawley Green.
In winning the 6 cups John involved 20 players, 11 from his own
sqaud and 9 from Jez Cove's, plus Chris Brown's new boys.
A special mention for to his terrific trio - Liam Toomey, Liam McGovern
and Kieron Meegan - they were the only three
ever present during this successful period.
To sum up is simple - the lads never lost a game, league, cup, tournament
or even a friendly.
Time for John to enjoy some liquid refreshment. Oh, and by the way,
the season starts in a couple of weeks!
