Nomads v Wembley

With new fixtures coming on board this season, the Nomads were pleased to welcome Wembley to CCGSS for the first time. Wembley sent down their fifth team which comprised many youngsters and in turn this gave the home team a chance to push some of their youngsters further up the order in order to gain vital batting experience.

Ian 'Beefy' Freeman (pictured in classic pose) went in at number
two and was heading for his first ever 50 when a slower delivery deceived him and the umpire gave him out plumb lbw on 43.

However, for the rest of us, it was an ideal chance to catch some sunshine, sit back and relax and think that it is another week nearer the football season.

As the editor was in a rush to get out for the evening and give money to sick animals, this was all the matchplay that could be recorded, but hopefully there may be more to come.
