Crawley Youth gain national recognition - FA award
our youth section with the Club in the Community Award
Crawley Youth are celebrating the
outcome of their efforts by becoming one of a select band of clubs in
the country.
Their efforts to improve all areas of the youth football section have
enabled them to attain the prestigious FA Charter Development Club
award, the only Club in Bedfordshire to achieve this standard. Now their
efforts have been recognised by the Football Association by being awarded
the coveted Club in the Community Award. Only 100 clubs throughout
the whole of England have been given this award and the results were announced
by the FA on Thursday, 19th December.

John Doyle, pictured, hoped that the efforts of many members,
including managers, coaches, volunteers and social members have been recognised.
John also realises that the efforts of the main club in transforming a
derelict building into a thriving football club boasting 22 teams, has
had a positive effect on the outcome.
The transformation in the area has been significant and Crawley Green
has now become well known for its progressive attitude to football in
the area.
John's work in this area has been rewarded by winning the CGSSC Admin/Official/Coach
of the year for two consecutive years - the first jointly shared with
Mal Dolby, another leading light in the campaign to improve the youth
section.
THIS IS A TREMENDOUS HONOUR FOR THE CLUB AND THE EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE
WOULD LIKE TO TAKE THE OPPORTUNITY TO CONGRATULATE JOHN DOYLE AND HIS
TEAM FOR ACHIEVING THIS STATUS. WE HOPE THIS IS A SPRINGBOARD FOR FUTURE
SUCCESS.
