From Crawley Green to Top Hatter
Dean Brill has become the first player
to come through our ranks to play in the first team for a football league
cup.

donating the above photograph. This will now be mounted and placed in
the Clubhouse.
Following the dismissal of Robert Beckwith for handball outside
the area in the Oldham v Luton game, it gave our former star goalkeeper
the chance to make his debut for the Hatters. And although the Town were
3-0 down, Dean managed to keep a clean sheet!
Dean's promotion to first-team action certainly gives hope to
our current youngsters as they dream of playing for a football league
team.

Luton Town have signed young goalkeeper Dean Brill on
a three-year contract according to the Luton Town FC official website.
For those involved at CGSSC we are pleased that Dean started his footballing
career with Crawley Rams and was a leading part in the team becoming the
first - and only - Crawley team to win the treble. In that season they
won the Jim Restall Memorial Trophy, the League Championship
and the League Cup.
With more and more youngsters becoming involved at Crawley Green,
and with the Crawley Youth becoming the first Club in Bedfordshire to
achieve the prestigious FA Charter Standard Development Club Award
and subsequently the Club in the Community Award (the highest award
the Club can aspire to) we hope that Dean is just the first successful
product of our youth development policy.
Congratulations to Dean on his immediate promotion and the best
of luck for the future.

Another former Crawley player, David Galbraith, is doing very
well at Tottenham Hotspur, and according to a reliable source is pushing
for a first-team place after showing terrific form this year.
