U10s top team at Hayes
Thursday, 19 July 2007
Crawley Green U10s shocked a host of top London
clubs by winning the Hayes FC tournament just weeks after forming.
Alan McCabe's and John Dudmish's newly-created team emerged
triumphant as winners amid a high-quality field in the 7-a-side event
which was held in Uxbridge. So, could this be yet another super team rolling
off the McCabe/Dudmish production line?

Following the competition success, the team (pictured above) was invited
to play against Spurs, Fulham, Arsenal and West Ham youth academies after
impressing scouts from the Premier clubs.
Club stalwart Alan said: "When we got down there we realised
there were some very good teams taking part, but we won the first game
3-0 and the boys played some really good football, eventually going on
to win the tournament.
"They drew only one game and won every other match. Some scouts approached
me afterwards and said they were impressed not only with the football
but in the way the boys conducted themselves.
"A lot of people though we were from Crawley in London (there is
only one Crawley) and were surprised when they found out we were from
Luton.
Hopefully, it looks like Alan and John have yet another
talented set of youngsters coming through the Crawley ranks.
