Kerry stars in Stars in Your Eyes
Thursday, 12 July 2007
By an overwhelming response the in-house Stars in
Your Eyes Competition was an outstanding success - one of the best
evenings of the year - and all thanks to Vice-Chairman Malcolm Bunker.
All the contestants had two weeks to learn by heart
their offerings, organise their costumes and get ready for the big stage.
Big Malc makes a dramatic entrance . . . whilst
Wee Ron doesn't.
Craig Penman, who was voted third, pulls out
all the stops to look like Elvis Presley, whilst Martin Armstrong,
who was runner up, took the trouble to put on a pair of specs to look
like Elton John
Both Naomi Staunton-Downey (above left) and
Kerry Hughes (winner) caught the eye with their presentations of Celine
Dion
and Olivia Newton John respectively.
Committeeman Ron MacKenzie (above) got the show
rolling with his version of Mark Knopfler from Dire Straits
and was in the lead for the top singer only for one song!

Club stalwart Craig Penman (above) had the club
rocking with his performance as Elvis and finished a popular third place.
Host, performer and larger-than-life (in many ways)
character Malcolm Bunker with a unique performance of Meatloaf.

Other artists performed by our budding superstars were
Olivia Newton-John, Elton John, Elvis Presley, Celine Dion and Meatloaf.
Malcolm Bunker rounded off a terrific show to
a packed clubhouse with his rendition of Meatloaf - which shook
the room to the rafters. Both Malcolm and Peter Kerrigan
deserve a great deal of thanks for the superb way the show was run and
hosted - as do the contestants for their hard work in putting on a great
show.

Eventual winner, Kerry Hughes (above) with her
rendition of
Olivia Newton-John
The eventual winner was club member Kerry Hughes
with her offering of Olivia Newton-John, followed by Armstrong
as Elton John and Craig Penman as Elvis Presley.
Editor's Note: Unfortunately the photographs taken on
the evening were not of good quality so if anyone has good quality photographs
of the evening can they contact Ian Freeman
