U8s at Kenilworth Road
Thursday, 30th August 2007
Crawley Green U8s had a day to remember when
they paraded their skills in front of a big crowd at the recent home game
between Luton Town FC and Gillingham FC, Saturday 25th August.

Our U8s pose proudly in front of the Hatters' faithful.
Mark Reid, whose son Jayden plays in the
U8s, contacted
Stuart Smith at Luton Town who organised a game between the
two teams which was played at Vauxhall Brache.
Our youngsters lost 5-2 to the Hatters' Centre of Excellence
U8s
but acquitted themselves well after conceding two early goals before coming
to terms with the pace of the game.

Crawley Green U8s manager Iain Black said: We
lost 5-2 but it
was a cracking game. We struggled with the pace of the game in the first
quarter and conceded two early goals. Once we had got to grips with the
game we really had a go and there was some excellent football played from
both teams.
Although we lost the boys knew they had played well and had we started
the game a bit quicker it might have been a different result.
To thank the team for the game Stuart Smith gave the Club 20 tickets
for the Gillingham game and led the boys out in front of the crowd at
half time.
During the half-time interval the Crawley lads played
a game between themselves which kept both sets of supporters entertained.
The youngsters had a great day out and thank Luton Town
FC for their hospitality.
