Sunday Thirds - Double Cup winners

Saturday, 13th May 2007
South Beds Sunday Football League - Invitation Cup Final
Crawley Green 1 Globe 0
Virgil Blennerhasset's Crawley Green (Sunday) Thirds
ended the season in triumphant fashion with their second cup final in two weeks at Ampthill Town FC.
In a far better game than last week Crawley forced the game from the kick-off with Darren Smith testing the goalkeeper with a stinging shot in the first couple of minutes.
The game went from end to end in pouring rain and both keepers excelled as the game went to half-time level.
The second half was more of the same but Crawley possibly just edged the game and won the game with a scrappy goal half way through the second half from veteran striker Gary King - to the delight of a large following for the maroons.
King (above) must like the Ampthill ground for he scored two of the three goals in last weel's cup final win.

South Beds Sunday Football League - Premier League Cup Final
Crawley Green 3 AFC Cadoza 1
Crawley Green (Sunday) Thirds
brought the first adult silverware back to the Club for a few years.
A fine 3-1 win over South Beds Sunday League champions, AC Cadoza at Ampthill Town FC in which veteran striker Gary King scored twice plus an own goal meant the Invitation Cup returned to Crawley Green.
Manager, Virgil Blennerhassett (abovew) who managed the 2002-03 Crawley Green (Sunday) Res to the NHCSFL Division 1 Champions and NHCSFL Reserve Cup Winners once again found the winning touch with his third trophy for the Club.
He could make it four as the Thirds once again travel to Ampthill hoping to make it a cup double as they take on ???? in the Reserves Cup Final this Sunday, May 13th.
