U13s - back-to-back championships

Under 13 CYL Division 4 Champions

On Thursday evening 3rd May CGY U13B won back-to-back championships clinching the Division 4 title after a fine 3-1 win at home to SKF Youth.

At one point through the season the team were 12 points behind them. With one match still left to play the team has won 16 games, drawn 1 and lost only 2.

In the two championship winning seasons we have only lost three times - a remarkable achievement for a team who have only been playing 11-a-side for 2 seasons and which at 7-a-side struggled for three seasons.

On a cold, cloudy evening at Someries School we knew we were in for a tough, physical match having lost 2-1 to SKF earlier in the season.With great support for both sides it was a tense game as both teams needed to win to have a chance of becoming champions.
SKF went 1-0 up midway through the first half bu after the break Crawley dominated the games and goals from Josh Rex Barnes, Jack Penman and Louis Riviere secured a fine victory for Crawley. We will be presented with our trophies at our last match on Sunday 13th May at Someries School.
