Neil Tattersall, Saturday first team manager
has beaten several teams to sign former Sunday player, Paul Sheridan
in time for the forthcoming season.
With last season's goalkeeper, Niall O'Shea being
limited with work commitments, it was imperative that the Club obtained
the services of a top keeper.
Tattersall said "It is good news for the
Club that we have managed to sign Paul. He is an experienced goalkeeper
with an excellent pedigree having played with several top clubs including
Barton Rovers. He shows all the qualities needed if we are to compete
at the highest level we can - strong in the air, a good communicator with
his defence plus a good shot stopper. He will be an excellent addition
to the team which includes many youngsters.'
Pau has also played in the National Sunday Cup for another
local side and has appeared in the Club's colours a few seasons ago
Paul (whose father John was club physiotherapist
at both Luton Town and Tottenham Hotspur) has just passed his level 1
coaching course held at the Club and is now ready for his level 1 speciaist
goalkeeping badge before sitting his level 2. He intends to offer his
services to the Club in this specialist role.
Another fine capture was that of James Potter. James,
who started his career at Crawley was happy to put pen to paper followingsuccessful
spells at Dunstable Town FC and Hitchin Town.

James (above) decided to come back to his roots
now he has a youngster of his own citing the long travelling required
of players higher up the football pyramid. He says 'With the superb facilities
at Crawley, plus the long travelling required when playing for Dunstable
it was an easy choice to re-sign for the Club especially as I can now
see more of my young girl on a Saturday as we still live near the Club.
Potter plays just behind the main striker, a
scorer of astute ability and has a deft touch in front of goal.
