Six youngsters sign for pro Clubs - Luton and
Arsenal
Following the success of the Crawley Green U9s (above) - unbeaten
in two seasons, pro clubs have signed no less than six of the team's talented
young players.
Although the coaches recognise that some of the success is due to level
of coaching, the facilities at Crawley have definitely had a positive
effect on the youth teams as a whole.
The coaches would also like to commend the parents of the Under 9s
A team for the success of the boys receiving contracts at these professional
clubs. It definitely proves that the team's dads' initial, and ongoing,
input into their son's development, plus their mums' constant support,
play a vital part. We all know that every child's care and basic football
development starts at home.
We would like to congratulate the following boys on receiving a contract:
Alex McCabe ( Alan and Carole) Luton Town
FC
Danny McGovern (John and Maureen) Luton FC
Isaac Galliford (Amanda and Robert) Luton
Town FC
Kyran Wiltshire (Ryan and Marlene) Luton
Town FC
James Justin (Mick and Carol) Luton Town
FC
Luke Trotman (John and Beverley) Luton Town
FC
Tyler Reid (Mark and Andrea) Arsenal FC
U9s win Willen World Cup

Two of the Crawley Willen World Cup winning teams.
The boys played their final tournament at the Willen World Cup
annual event.
It was a very long day, with their first league match starting at 9.30
am.
The boys played seven league games without conceding a goal, and made
a their way to the quarter finals, which the boys won 5-1.
In the semi final, the lads scored early on, and created a host of chances.
It ended with a 1-0 victory.
The final was a close affair. Crawley Green scored in the second
minute, with a goal from Alfie Hull.
Bletchley Youth equalised late on, when Isaac Galliford
got injured, but the referee failed to recognise the attempts to stop
play to treat the injured player.
Bletchley Youth scored in extra time with a deflected shot to make
the score 1-2.
The final was all but lost for Crawley Green, when Tyler Reid
latched on to a through ball by Danny McGovern, and rifled the
ball home to level the game. Crawley sealed yet another competition win
when goalkeeper Brandon Nabaro saved two spot kicks to ensure the
maroons went home winners.
An older Crawley team (both teams pictured together above) also
won their age group. Further details when available.
