Crawley players in World Cup video

UPDATE
THE VIDEO IS RELEASED ON MONDAY 29 MAY
WHY NOT BUY IT AND SEE THE CRAWLEY LADS IN COLOUR!
Thursday, 4 May 2006
Tony Christie is famous for his "Show me the way to Amarillo" but Crawley youngsters starred in his newest video filmed at Barnet FC.
Three Counties Radio stars, Ian Stringer and Big George, wrote alternative words to the Amarillo tune for the forthcoming World Cup in support of the England team.
When Tony got to hear about it he arranged for a meeting and a subsequent video shoot - that's where Crawley come into the picture - along with GB high-jumper Dalton Grant and world record holder Mark Foster.
Youngsters (and a few star-struck adults from the Club) went along to Barnet FC for the day to record the video.
Below are some pictures of the day.
Rob Burton (who has just celebrated gaining his Level 3 coaching badge at Crawley) poses with Dalton Grant, GB high-jumper.
Our youngsters are right behind Dalton in supporting England.
Dalton gives Jenny a cuddle . . .
. . . whilst everyone puts on their England colours as they pose
with Dalton Grant and Mark Foster. Also in the picture are two England lady rowers.
The adults - club members Craig Freeman, Colin Kirk, Jenny and Rob Burton - pose with superstar Tony Christie before filming begins . . .
. . . whilst the youngsters get their chance with the international singing star.
Tony Christie gets the big star treatment for the national press.
And our youngsters finish of their big day with all the stars.
What's the betting this song will be sung more often on the terraces in the World Cup than the new official England song?
Show me the way to Amarillo? Some committee members find it hard being shown the way to the bar!
