Dean Brill on trial at Liverpool
20 August 2004

Sources close to the Club indicate that our former star goalkeeper,
Dean Brill (pictured
aboved with his first manager, Jim Fox, at our recent Club awards
night), is being taken on board by Liverpool for a trial period.
This will be a tremendous boost for Dean and gives further encouragement
to our current younsters hoping to emulate his achievement of becoming
a professional football player. It is thought Luton turned down similar
offers from Arsenal and Tottemham last season for Dean, mainly
due to their goalkeeping crisis at the time.
This item will be updated when further information is available.
Other news is that David Galbraith,
who started his football career with our Crawley Rams has become the second
former youth player to make the professional grade - this time with Northampton
Town. David was snapped up by Tottenham Hotspur after before
going to the Cobblers.
Luton Town's visitors this weekend, Torquay United, will
have another former Crawley player in their team.
Goalkeeper
Kevin 'Tufty' Dearden will be trying to prevent Hatter's hero
Steve Howard from becoming the first player in the Town's history
to score in eight consecutive games. Kevin turned out for the Club
on Sundays for many years and has played for several league clubs.
Shane Blackett (currently with Dagenham
& Redbridge) is hoping to become the third player to come throughout
our junior ranks to reach football league status - and we could end up
having four players playing league football at the same time!
