ENFIELD 1893 7
Crawley Green FC 0

FA Cup - Preliminary Round
Enfield 1893 FC v Crawley Green
Missing several key players due to holiday commitments Crawley Green bowed out of the FA Cup when they suffered a 7-0 hiding from Essex Senior League opponents Enfield 1893 FC.
Crawley knew they were in for a tough afternoon when Enfield opened the scoring in the first minute with a Wesley Borghys header from a corner.  Jerry Nkumah and Steven Ahoua-Boua added to the score to put Enfield 3 up at the break.  Marcel Jones made it 4 on 53 minutes and a further 3 goals followed at regular intervals from Neil Hughes, Bradley Nelson and Geoffrey Ocran.
Crawley's Man of the Match was their young keeper Scott Bates who performed heroics on a very busy afternoon.
In mid week Crawley Green ran out 3-0 winners against Buckingham Athletic.  New signing Stuart Strange opened the scoring when he finished well from close range after 18 minutes.  Crawley doubled their advantage on the half hour with an unstoppable Rian MacDonald header powered in from a James Potter corner.
Buckingham spurned a number of opportunities to get back into the game including a missed penalty saved well by keeper Dean Bull.  All three points were secured when James Potter notched his 5th goal of the season after 69 minutes.
Next week Crawley travel to Premier League side St. Margaretsbury to compete in the FA Vase.
