Bedford Town Res 1
Crawley Green Fc 3

Molten Spartan South Midlands League
Bedford Town Reserves v Crawley Green
Crawley Green deservedly beat Bedford Town Reserves 3-1 to move into second place in the league behind Holmer Green.

Crawley dominated from the start and quickly established a lead with 2 goals in 2 minutes.  Rian Macdonald opened the scoring after 18 minutes when he turned in a cross from Stuart Strange and two minutes later Ricky Clark fired home following good work from James Potter.

Bedford got back into the game on the stroke of half time when Crawley's keeper Ross Tompkins conceded a penalty and Tom Damon finished emphatically from the spot.  Crawley were the better side in the second half and put the game beyond doubt with 5 minutes remaining when John Cooper smashed home another good cross from Stuart Strange.

In mid week Crawley progressed into the semi final of the Division One League Cup with a comfortable 3-0 victory over local rivals Brache Sparta CFC.
James Potter opened the scoring after 18 minutes with a well struck free kick and Stefan McNeilly got on the end of a Rian MacDonald cross to double Crawley's advantage 18 minutes later.  The second half was a disjointed affair dominated by Crawley.  A debut goal for Ricky Clark secured the tie when he headed in a cross from Scott Darby after 75 minutes.  In the semi final Crawley entertain Hoddesdon Town.

Crawley Green Reserves beat the favourites Leighton Town Reserves 1-0 in the Bedfordshire Intermediate Cup with Aaron Wilson scoring the only goal.

Next Tuesday Crawley Green travel to Kings Langley and on Saturday play Bedford away.
