Crawley Green 3

AFC Dunstable1

Bedfordshire Senior Trophy
Crawley Green v AFC Dunstable
Poor discipline by AFC Dunstable allowed Crawley Green to recover from a goal down to win the semi final of the Bedfordshire Senior Trophy 3-1.
In an even first half AFC took the lead when Richard Harker finished off a good move after 37 minutes.
The second half was equally tight until the game changed on the hour when AFC's Courteney Massey needlessly got himself sent off for an off the ball kick at a Crawley player directly in front of the referee.
The sending off disrupted AFC who became preoccupied with the referee and Crawley took full advantage with 3 goals in 7 minutes.
A defensive mix up after 64 minutes allowed Jermaine Hall to level the scores and 5 minutes later Peter O'Donnell netted from close range.
The game was effectively over in the 71 minute when Tom Freeman knocked in a free kick from John Cooper.
AFC rallied in the closing stages but Crawley's defence in which Ross Tompkins was outstanding, stood firm to book Crawley a place in the final against Potton United.
Crawley Reserves beat Harpenden Town Reserves 2-1 with new signing Henry Mungwira netting a brace.
Next week Crawley travel to Bedford on Tuesday and Cockfosters the following Saturday. The Reserves travel to Harpenden Town on Tuesday and next Saturday entertain Tring Corinthians.
