Crawley Green 2
Tokyngton Manor 3

Crawley Green went to the top of the league following a hard fought 2-1 mid-week victory against a very physical Tokyngton Manor side.

The late arrival of the Tokyngton team delayed the kick off until after 8.00pm.  Crawley were quickly out the blocks and opened the scoring after only 4 minutes when new signing Jack Weedon netted from close range.  Crawley spurned a number of chances to increase their lead and paid the penalty when Manor’s Melford Simpson equalised after 34 minutes.

The second half degenerated into a physical battle and the game looked to be heading for a draw.  However with 2 minutes remaining Rian MacDonald put through Robbie O’Dell who smashed home the winner to put Crawley into top spot.

Crawley’s next game is on Saturday 10 Oct 09 when they entertain local rivals Totternhoe in the Beds Senior Trophy.  The match will be played at Crawley Green.
